Age Groups

Age groups are the bands you count guests in — infants, children, adults, seniors, or whatever fits how you charge. They matter in two places: guests choose from them when booking, and your extra-occupancy charges are priced per group.

Set these up before configuring occupancy pricing, since Rate v3 occupancy charges and rate adjustments both reference them.

How the bands work

Each group has a Name, a Start Age, and an End Age, and the groups form one continuous ladder from youngest to oldest. Because they connect, most groups’ end age is derived from the next group’s start rather than typed in — change where “Child” ends and “Adult” begins by moving one boundary, not two.

The first and last groups are the exceptions. The youngest takes an explicit end age, and the oldest an explicit start age, since there is nothing below or above them to inherit from.

A typical ladder is Infant 0–2, Child 3–12, Adult 13–64, Senior 65+.

Changing groups later

Age groups are referenced by existing pricing, so changing them changes what future bookings cost. Moving the adult boundary from 13 to 18 reprices every party with a teenager.

Existing reservations keep what they were quoted; the change applies to new bookings. Even so, it is worth making age group changes between seasons rather than mid-season, and checking the result on the Compare page if you are on Rate v3.
