Stay Rules

Stay rules control the shape of a booking rather than its price: minimum and maximum nights, which days guests may arrive, and which days they may depart.

For a weekly-turnover property this is what keeps the season workable. A Saturday-to-Saturday rule means every cabin turns over on the same day and nothing gets stranded; without it, a Wednesday-to-Sunday booking in July can leave two unsellable stubs either side.

Add Stay Rule creates a rule with a name, night limits, and day restrictions. Edit or delete rules from their cards. Rules are assigned to units per season on the assignments page — a rule that is not assigned does nothing.

Getting the restrictions right

Minimum nights protect you from stays too short to be worth the turnover. Arrival and departure day restrictions protect the pattern, which is the part people underestimate: a three-night minimum alone still allows bookings that leave four-night holes nothing can fill.

The cost is that rules turn away real business. Every restriction rules out bookings you might otherwise have taken, which is what the relaxations below exist to claw back.

Gap Filling & Last Minute

Both automatically relax your rules to capture stays you would otherwise lose.

Gap Filling applies when an unbookable hole opens between two reservations. Inside that gap, stays of at least the Gap Floor number of nights are accepted even though your normal minimum would reject them. A four-night hole between two Saturday bookings becomes sellable instead of sitting empty — the rule that created the gap has already done its job, and there is nothing left to protect.

Last Minute relaxes the minimum within a set number of days before arrival. Close to the date, an empty night earns nothing, so a two-night booking beats no booking. Set the window to match how late your guests actually book.

Both are worth having on. They only ever apply where the strict rule was costing you a night you had no other prospect of selling.
